Understanding People using 4 Letters: The Complete Guide to MBTI

what is then MBTI, you ask?

MBTI - Myers Briggs Type Indicator

It is a personality assessment method, done based on a questionnaire that maps personal preferences, based on the ideas of psychiatrist and psychologist Carl Jung. The questionnaire was developed by Katharine Briggs and her daughter Isabel Myers during World War II, out of a desire to help people, and especially women who were entering the workforce at the time — to find roles that suited their natural tendencies.

The model describes 16 personality types, created by combining preferences across four dichotomous axes:

Introvert (I) / Extrovert (E)

Thinking (T) / Feeling (F)

Intuition (N) / Sensing (S)

Judging (J) / Perceiving (P)

Each axis is represented by two letters, where each person has a tendancy towards one of the letters on an axie. The combination of the letters create the name of the type in English.

Once we know what is the personality type, ours  or that of the person in front of us, we

Instantaneously gain a great deal of information about that person: their strengths, challenges, what motivates them, how they think, how they process information, what drives their decision-making, what energizes them, and much more, as you can see in detail in the descriptions of the personality types on our website.

The MBTI personality assessment method is one of the most popular methods in the United States and South Korea. This method is used regularly in the U.S. military and currently also in the IDF. It is not uncommon to see people in the United States writing their personality type, even on dating apps.

Today, MBTI is used in various fields such as personal development, career, teamwork, and interpersonal communication.

It is important to remember that this is not a tool that measures ability or tries to place people into a fixed box. Rather, it is a tool that allows us to better understand how we and others think, act, and connect to the world and the people around us.
